The look, the feel, everything about it is completely updated and looking extremely polished. But that isn’t to say it isn’t good, in fact, the recreation of Citadel is practically spot on. Sadly, because of the trailer for System Shock 3 dropping that day as well, the gameplay trailer for System Shock got a little overtaken. It showed off Citadel, the trusty metal pipe, the mutants that roam and stalk the halls, a few puzzles, some audio logs, and none other than SHODAN herself: However, just a couple days ago Nightdive released a 21 minute gameplay preview of the Medics Station. That was where it stood, but as 2018 came and went, there was still no sign of the game. ![]() However, 2017 came along and they had to delay the release date to 2018. The date was set for 2017 for its release. The goal was met with 19 days left in the campaign, and Nightdive ended up with $1.35M USD. In 2016, they created a Kickstarter with a goal of $900,000 USD to make sure that the game would be the best that it could be, and to demonstrate their commitment and passion to recreating this cult classic. ![]() So when Nightdive had gained the rights, they began to work on a new title known as System Shock Remastered, however, they eventually switched it back to just System Shock. But in 2012, developers Nightdive Studios purchased the rights for both System Shock and System Shock 2 from the Star Insurance Company after the original studio shut down. ![]()
